We were once the closest of friends. <br />Watching out for one another. <br />One guy, one girl we thought forever. <br />You were in a real important part of my life. <br />Together we talked, together we cried. <br />At times we didn't have to say a thing and the other knew. <br />We confined in one another. <br />We helped each other out even in the most difficult of situations. <br />I trust you with my everything. <br />Never thought you'd start to pretend. <br />Pretend you cared about my life. <br />Just like you really gave a damn. <br />I guess over the years we drifted. <br />Slowly, but we drifted apart. <br />Your letters became shorter and less. <br />Our conversations not so grand. <br />The lies flowed out of your mouth more frquently. <br />You started to use me for little things. <br />At first I didn't realize and I was in denile. <br />I gave you chance after chance to prove yourself good. <br />Eventually your true side had shown through, <br />when you lied to my face. <br />I guess some friendships weren't meant to be, <br />and the distance in living can put distance in friendships. <br />I told you to never talk with me again, <br />because I don't need friends who are more like enemies. <br />I don't hate you, I could never force myself to. <br />But, this is forever goodbye. <br />I'll never look back at this mild stepping stone with regret. <br />All because I believe it's the right thing. <br />Just remember the good times and fun. <br />Now go!
