The man sat on his chair, on his porch <br />I did not know his name <br />So i would address him as sir <br />My mother said, dont ask him <br />He will be offended, but i had to know <br />He sat there, with his white cane <br />With his dark glasses, that covered his eyes <br />I approached the porch and said hello <br />He said hello young boy, which i thought strange <br />He couldn't see, then he said <br />Your voice is young and fresh to the ear <br />We sat and talked then i said <br />Can you see your dreams, then he laughed <br />His face was filled with joy, then he said <br />I dream what i hear, i picture what i hear <br />My mind does hear, what i see <br />Tell me a story and i will dream it tonight <br />So i told him what i saw <br />When i went to the beach <br />Told him of the birds, that nest in the forest <br />He smiled and listened, then he said <br />What you have told me, is a thing of dreams<br /><br />Allan James Saywell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/blind-men-dream/
