Do you ever take time in early morning <br />When there is moistness on the ground <br />To listen to the soft persistent flutter <br />Of birds fresh awakening sounds? <br /> <br />Do you ever take the time to answer <br />The questions from an inquisitive child <br />His curiosity overwhelming <br />And when he learns he’s so very proud? <br /> <br />Do you ever take the time to question <br />Whether is it nature or God you hear <br />In the wonderful sounds of your world <br />The sky is more beautiful than you can bear? <br /> <br />Do you ever take the time to notice <br />A small animal scurrying ‘round <br />Tiny little creatures looking for <br />Their next meal upon the ground? <br /> <br />Do you ever take the time to listen <br />To the sound of falling rain <br />Instead of hating that it’s wet outside <br />You love the joyous sound again? <br /> <br />Do you ever take the time to enjoy <br />And be amazed at a fresh new sunrise <br />For its colors and its patterns <br />Are always a precious sweet surprise? <br /> <br />Do you take time to catch your breath <br />When the sun begins to set <br />The sky is filled with brilliant colors <br />Such a treat you always get? <br /> <br />For our world is filled with wonder <br />And it we stop we’re sure to find <br />The most wonderful transformations <br />If we only take the time!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/take-time-4/
