Full moon spirals over my head <br />the sky is falling, turning blood red <br />the moon rears its face so high <br />I worship its constant life <br /> <br />The stars give me sustenance <br />to never die, an eternal existence <br />I have no hatred for those who made me <br />the moon my cosmic sea <br /> <br />Compelled by forces beyond my control <br />I can't stop the monster I abhore <br />just when the urges stop, I wonder <br />is this the end of my plunder <br /> <br />Sometimes in my dreams I fear <br />an intruder I cannot sleeping hear <br />the others, joined with me from afar <br />watching the stake driven in my heart <br /> <br />The sun sets, I rise again <br />of this there will be no end <br />The moon in crimson red rises across the sea <br />I worship its short life mournfully<br /><br />Kevin Howell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/watching-the-full-moon/
