Once, the liars got me down <br />they turned my love into a frown. <br />I couldn't see the very few <br />who were also living true. <br /> <br />Where's the love, I need to know <br />is everybody dying slow? <br />under siege but will not show <br />the other side to help us grow. <br /> <br />And now it's really killing me... <br />Plain and simply, killing me. <br /> <br />And if I cared a little more <br />maybe death will break my door <br />to take me back to nevermore <br />where I can spread my smile. <br /> <br />But I can't take much more of this <br />the loving turned to morbid bliss <br />when every time it's miss and miss <br />as good intentions hit the floor. <br /> <br />Shattered, scattered, broken time <br />every shard that pricks the mind <br />when you are living in rewind, <br />can anybody hear me? <br /> <br />Brothers, all I do is cry <br />into a raging, laugh-disguise <br />I punch the walls while asking why <br />God, can leave us dying. <br /> <br />Now every scar that I retrace <br />will tell the story of the time <br />when I had touched an angels face <br />but just to find a wicked mime. <br /> <br />So maybe if I cry too hard <br />I can love until I break <br />handing heart to you from floor <br />while smiling for my Father’s sake. <br /> <br />When every tear that I can taste <br />tells me that I'll soon be free <br />there's no mistaking I'm alone, <br />so please continue killing me.<br /><br />Sara Stowell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/please-continue-killing-me/
