Steeled talons pierce the mind, <br />Shatter thoughts into wayward shards, <br />Of black and gold and thudding embers, <br />In fire and ice and mismatched strains. <br /> <br />Music screams in faded shadow; <br />Broken lights pound in shallow dreams, <br />That wilt and wane 'til hope lies frozen, <br />In hollow moments and fragmented scenes. <br /> <br />Moving pictures ebb and slide, <br />In a garish dance of mocking grace; <br />Flowing on a tide of anger, <br />Spurred on by cold, frustrated rage. <br /> <br />Hope lies barren on desert sands, <br />In tortured, thudding, twisted agony; <br />Yet the void comes to drive pain out, <br />Sweet relief pulls misery into memory. <br /> <br />© S.E.S<br /><br />Sara Stowell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/headache-9/
