Bitter winds blow, <br />As I stand on the edge, <br />The cold eating away at me numbly, <br />The moon’s beams shining elegantly <br /> <br />Loneliness surrounds me, <br />In the darkness all around, <br />Stars can’t be found, <br />Their gentle light lost <br /> <br />When I was no use, <br />When I was in another place, <br />Her kind smile came, <br />I told her I needed space <br /> <br />I told her I wanted to be alone, <br />She pulled me into a hug, <br />Hear love shown <br /> <br />I stood there frozen, <br />Like a petrified stone, <br />In her warm loving arms, <br />Frozen to the bone <br /> <br />I put my arms around her, <br />Caring but tight, <br />Fearing she’d disappear, <br />Out of my sight <br /> <br />She took my shattered heart, <br />She sewn ever tear, <br />And mended it with care <br /> <br />In the moonbeams, <br />We look at the gleaming stars above, <br />Getting lost in each others love<br /><br />Tyra Falconwing<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/mended-heart/
