From the corner of my eye I was aware of movement - <br />Through the window, from across the passage-way - <br />Some-one, or some-thing, was trying to attract my attention; <br />Gesticulating frantically as though to call me outside. <br /> <br />It was heavily quiet inside the room, rather frightening, <br />But out I went into the storm. <br /> <br />A tree, more of a sapling really, <br />Seemed as though it was attempting escape or to fly. <br /> <br />My shadow in the dim glow of a swinging light, <br />In reciprocal motion and intent, perhaps, <br />Also began to sway wildly, ever more wildly, from side to side. <br /> <br />The tree and I have roots, however; the storm subsided.<br /><br />Mill Field<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/gen-from-the-corner-of-my-eye/
