From a box
up in the stratosphere,
or down below my pier,
I slip, and start falling.

Like the steel petal of a metallic rose
hits the ground - a bomb, but a silent bomb,
Like the molten gold sea hits a shore of diamond,
Like a light bulb sun hits the horizon
and shatters into a million
little pieces, i hit the ground.

I hit the ground,
but the ground does not brake my fall,
and i keep falling
and i never stop.

Nathan Pigott

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/falling-14/
