When the rolling winds make waves through fields <br />Of grass that’s grown too long, and my breath halts, <br />Or when the flooding rain beats from the brows <br />Of storm-locked clouds, and keeps my tears from show, <br />I know that God can weep and breathe instead. <br /> <br />When the cries of birds fill sullen skies, and <br />With their shrieks, my screams are forced to nil, <br />Or when the setting sun regrets the clouds <br />It bleeds, and stills the razor at my arm, <br />I know that God can howl and bleed instead. <br /> <br />But when he longs for me to breathe again, <br />So his bleak tears may dry, or when he needs <br />My screams to drown his hollowed woes; <br />My blood to run in case his day won’t die, <br />I know my soul will perish in his pain.<br /><br />Sean Godley<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/god-s-hollowed-woes/
