PART 1- <br />I walk down my chosen path <br />And see others follow <br />Paths their own, some sit and wallow. <br />I walk down my ever chosen <br />Path <br />Take my memories with me. <br />Cold darkened thoughts to call my <br />Own <br />My path remains through <br />All time. Of what is to be <br />My chosen path. <br />My soul is forever bound <br />And my mind <br />Thinks of the pain that I find <br />I have gone through, and of all <br />The things I've done. <br />The past is over, yet is still here, <br />Crashing by in woken, sober <br />Waves. <br />Not a single made up thing about me, <br />Only honestly and truth. <br />And I became aware in my youth, <br />Of memories. What we held dear, <br />Wars because of untold truth. <br />They followed and wallowed <br />Desperate to be truly free. <br />And I show <br />The memories in me live on, <br />And some of us unknowingly were used <br />as a pawn. <br />And the endless spilling of blood <br />In the many wars fought <br />Comes down my chosen path. <br />The flowing like a flood. <br />I now know each mem'ry's me <br />Every single one a different life, each <br />With something to teach, <br />Teaching a lesson of how I must be <br />So strong, to the cause my conviction stay- <br />ing, <br />But what of the others, <br />Do they remember the spilling <br />Blood of sisters and brothers, <br />So much killing <br />How many others share memories with <br />Me! <br />Actually like to see how many know <br />The truth, really.<br /><br />Nicholas McDonough<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-chosen-path-part-1-mar-14th-2003/
