I've lost the road to Paradise <br />Dark shadows bar the way <br />The path is strewn with memories <br />Which dim the burnished day <br /> <br />With heavy heart I wander long <br />To find this land obscure <br />That I should in its glory dwell <br />In joy forevermore <br /> <br />But many twists and turns are marked <br />It seems, to steal my quest <br />And all concealed in shrouds of care <br />My spirit thus to test <br /> <br />So hail the stars to light my way <br />To guide me through the night <br />And hail the wind to spur me forth <br />The sun to shine yet bright <br /> <br />I'll ever seek to find a way <br />The bracken thick to clear <br />For as vile fate has torn my soul <br />With hope my heart shall steer <br /> <br />So marching on, and resolute, <br />To walk the rugged track <br />Then set to win life's game of chance <br />Go forth and not look back<br /><br />Valerie Dohren<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-ve-lost-the-road-to-paradise/
