Hailey Agnew - The Crying Game

2014-06-12 15 Dailymotion

Having shed rivers in my life,
I can’t stand the salt water,
I hate the tears,
But the stream won’t falter.
I curl in defensively and cry even more.
Those bloody tears,
They fall to the floor.
I have to live the rest;
In bringing my knees to my chest,
Burying my face, I parish,
With nothing left to cherish.
The days pass me by,
No longer do they have meaning,
Those weak voices float away,
All I hear now is screaming.
I scream and I cry,
I hate everything,
I want to die.
And one day I realized,
No longer do these tears mean anything,
Now the days have meaning,
Now I no longer cry.
No longer do I scream,
Now I hear the birds sing.
Having tears fall from unopened eyes,
In rivers from the face that’s lied,
The world means something; I realize.
No longer will I play the crying game,
No longer with my head bow with shame,
I get up and quit the crying game,
So that I might join the living world again.

Hailey Agnew

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-crying-game-3/
