Dream and dream not <br /> <br />Dream, an extension of reality <br />Dream, an elevation in status <br />Dream, a hazy future <br />Dream, an innovative effort <br /> <br />It is not the one which you experience in sleep <br />It is the wakeful dream, I am talking about <br /> <br />This dream’s nature and extent <br />Its colour and fragrance <br />Its beneficiaries and executors <br />Depend on the experience <br />Knowledge <br />And out-of-the-box thinking <br />Of the person dreaming <br /> <br />The life’s driving force is indeed this <br />Wakeful dream or envisioned status <br /> <br />There is always a gap between <br />What is dreamt and what is real <br />More the gap, more the effort <br />Less the gap, less the effort <br />No gap, no effort and no life <br /> <br />Be cautious though, too big the gap <br />It becomes too much for you <br />Leading to your frustration <br /> <br />Place your dreams in stages <br />Dream the next immediate stage achievable <br />Work for it, reach it <br />Dream the next, reach it and go on scaling new heights each time <br /> <br />Dream to be <br />Dream not to become <br />Dream the end <br />Dream not for the means <br />Dream happiness <br />Dream not for things that, you think, will make you happy <br />Dream comfort <br />Dream not for things that add to your comfort <br />Dream leadership qualities <br />Dream not for placement as leader <br />Dream hard work <br />Dream not the award therefor <br />Dream to feel rich <br />Dream not for wealth <br />Dream to stay healthy <br />Dream not medication <br />Dream being a better person <br />Dream not bettering others <br />Dream being noble <br />Dream not being pronounced noble <br />Dream being divine <br />Dream not looking divine <br /> <br />Limit not dreams <br />Dream right, left, top, bottom and beyond <br /> <br />Share your dreams with others <br />Impose them not on others <br />As dreams are unique to a person <br />No two persons dream the same <br />However close and intimate they may be <br /> <br />Just stop not with dreaming <br />Work, work and work till you reach <br /> <br />Dream to live <br />As dreams only keep you going<br /><br />Bashyam Narayanan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dream-and-dream-not/
