I show my love in a strange way <br />Masked under sarcasm and insults. <br />For those I love, I push them <br />Harder to be the best. <br />Sounds like a very strange way to love another. <br />Wanting them to push themselves to <br />The very top, and drag them down <br />With the words meant to have no meaning. <br />I can’t help it’s the only way I was taught <br />Or that I fear of opening up. <br />But seeing that what I say hurts them <br />And failing in changing my ways hurts me, <br />So much. <br />I just lack this power to change.<br /><br />Chris Cariad<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/strange-love-15/
