Green is the color of the forest <br />and the forest is a majestic and dangerous plain, <br />that holds secrets and those in need. <br />But this is my forest, my safe haven. <br />You cut down all the trees, <br />in hope of exposing me: <br />but you don't know what lies inside, <br />secrets i hide. <br />grudges i hold, <br />wishes i made, <br />fears that i carry. <br />You stomp on every flower and bug, <br />trying to kill my hopes and my dreams. <br />You rip off every leaf and stem off of everything you touch, <br />leaving it bare, stripping me of everything i have, so you can mock and humiliate me. <br />You burn and kill all the the animals, <br />leaving me with no one but myself in loneliness. <br />You massacre all the birds, <br />preventing me from flying away. <br />I try to run, but you set traps, <br />You hunt me down, capturing me and the nothing i have left, <br />beating and killing me with your words. <br />And in the end i am left with an empty forest that was once my hiding place <br />and these scars I will live with forever. <br />But if you couldn't see through the depths of the green before, <br />I'm sure you can see now, <br />because there is no more green, <br />there is nothing left to hide the secrets behind my green eyes.<br /><br />Belle elleb<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/green-eyes-8/
