A Rich man, a philanthropist
Was often dating, but he missed
That feeling of security
That comes with marriage, blissfully…
He thought he’d ask three girls he knew
How they would spend and what they’d do
With piles of cash… he gave them each
Five thousand dollars so they’d teach
Him exactly how they’d spend
Money, so he’d comprehend
Them, the first one took the cash
To Boutiques where in a flash
Spent the lot on clothes and hair:
Things she would display and wear
To look so good that he’d be proud
That she would stand out in a crowd
And be a social asset there
Where people would just stop and stare
The second of these women three
Went to buy him presents she
Thought would him impress the most
With golf clubs, ties and clothes that boast
About the way she’d care for him
And put him first and “never skim
Attention for myself”, she said
Before enticing him to bed
But not before the third girl there
Put all the cash in stocks and share
And multiplied what she was gave
And paid him back, the rest did save
With lots of joint investment stock
Where it was safe with key and lock
And so our wealthy bachelor
Could compare and see what’s more
How these three girls did compete
To show their worth and love complete
And when he made his final choice
It wasn’t Joan, it wasn’t Joyce
But Mary that did him enthrall
She had the biggest boobs of all
So all of this just goes to show
That men are like that…as you know

Chris Higginson©

Christopher Higginson

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/choosing-a-wife-2/
