I'll always remember that day in may 1983 <br />I was standing at the foot of dad's bed <br />And he turned his head and looked at me <br />Thats the day i heard dad say three little words to me <br />Them three little words brought tears to my eyes <br />And my hands started shaking My heart skip ah beat <br />and i almost fell to my knees <br />I thought that i hated dad but i never hated him at all <br />Dad never realize how much my heart ached or just how long <br />I waited to hear him say them three little words <br />that ment the world to me <br />Oh I; ll never forget that day in may 1983 <br />It was a sad sad day but yet a very special one to me <br />because thats the day i heard dad say three little words to me <br />Then later on that evening dad passed away <br />Yes i'll always remember that special day in may 1983 <br />Thats the day dad turned and looked at me and said <br />them three little words to me <br />I; ve been waiting for him to say <br />I Love You.<br /><br />shirley hedrick<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/three-little-words-8/
