The night falls quickly, <br />The sky full of lost hopes and tired dreams, <br />I drift away slowly, <br />Reminded of the screams. <br /> <br />Those screams haunt me, <br />Each and everyday, <br />They tell me your watching me, <br />They tell me I'm your prey. <br /> <br />I try to sleep, <br />I lie awake, <br />I think of the chance, <br />The chance I have to take. <br /> <br />This art I possess, <br />Is beautiful, <br />Though, unlike the rest. <br /> <br />I can't live this life I'm so sick of, <br />i can't take it, <br />Do you know how horrible it is? <br />To hate the man you love? <br /> <br />You say I could be better, <br />But when I'm good, <br />You say I'm the best. <br /> <br />You say it to keep me wrapped up, <br />Wrapped up in the stupid reality, <br />A reality I can't give up, that you possess. <br /> <br />You mess with my head, <br />You make me feel strangely disgusting, <br />Sickly and ill, <br />You shove down my throat, <br />That jagged pill. <br /> <br />I rise, <br />Reminded of the screams, <br />The screams of pain, <br />From the hits upon my skin, <br />When you turn devilishly mean. <br /> <br />I go to grab the sharp knife, <br />It rests in the kitchen sink, <br />We used it for dinner, <br />You left it there, <br />Why didn't you think? <br /> <br />I take it to the bed, <br />I clutch it in my hand, <br />The moon glows, <br />As I silently fight this harmful man. <br /> <br />One, <br />Two, <br />I cannot bring myself to do it, <br />I love to hate you too much, <br />I feel ashamed and sick. <br /> <br />My stomach turns, <br />I try it once more, <br />Before I know it, <br />There is blood on the floor. <br /> <br />You sick, twisted bastard! <br />Look what you've made me do! <br />I wouldn't be so crazy, <br />If it wasn't for you. <br /> <br />It seems rather black in the moonlight glow, <br />The blood in its many shades, <br />I smile grimly, <br />My love for you fades. <br /> <br />I killed you, <br />The pain, <br />And the demented game, <br />You made me play. <br /> <br />I killed the passion, <br />I killed the hate, <br />I killed my narrow fate. <br /> <br />I do not hear them, <br />Those screams are gone, <br />They're finally dead, <br />They have diminished, <br />Just like the sickness in my head.<br /><br />Hope Ramone<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/reminded-of-the-screams/
