As a deadly Snake that's poised, <br />to strike at any time; <br />it watches my every movement, <br />for a chance to poison my mind. <br /> <br />Lurking about as a Spider, <br />spinning webs of lies and deciept; <br />spun from a suspicious heart, <br />it silently waits for me. <br /> <br />It's tail is that of a Scorpion, <br />for the sting is painful and sharp; <br />it hides itself as a coward, <br />to pierce my self-exposed heart. <br /> <br />Prowling around as a Lion, <br />to mangle my joy and pride; <br />it stalks me wherever I go, <br />with the fury it harbors inside. <br /> <br />The Wolf waits for the gentle lamb, <br />cunningly biding it's time; <br />until the lamb is caught off guard, <br />then the Wolf howls, 'She's all mine'.<br /><br />Ruth warren<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-predator/
