She lurks within the shadows, <br />spinning her web of lies; <br />patiently waiting and watching, <br />for her victims to pass by. <br /> <br />She lures them towards her snare, <br />with cunningness and skill; <br />The Black Widow is her name, <br />and she is hungry to kill. <br /> <br />It doesn't matter to her, <br />if her prey is married or not; <br />They are all the same to her, <br />as in her trap they're caught. <br /> <br />Her Cobweb is her battlefield, <br />she's spun with care and pride; <br />She catches her naive victims, <br />in her web of deceipt and lies. <br /> <br />Her name is well befitting, <br />for she kills with every strike; <br />She sucks the life right out of them, <br />then leaves them there to die. <br /> <br />They're helpless when they are captured, <br />they lack the will to fight; <br />and her fangs are poised and ready, <br />waiting patiently to strike. <br /> <br />Only the strongest of men, <br />will escape the web she's weaved; <br />for she crawls into their lives, <br />as she practices to deceive. <br /> <br />If they are able to free themselves, <br />she patiently waits for another; <br />to devour their very minds and hearts, <br />as she carefully chooses her lover.<br /><br />Ruth warren<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-black-widow/
