Music and some playful banter
On this road leading to an unseen destiny
In a rock and roll version a road to nowhere
In my view a certain destination with uncertain twists
In this game of run and chase
There are more milestones than ever
Clouds fly by like holy smoke of water
Birds stretching their wings covering the flamboyant sun
The burner and the igniter of hopes that cover this land
Wind kissing the faces hard
Trying to carry us away from us

The rear view trying to catch up in fast forward
A road ahead and another constantly moving backward
Many passers by unknown faces with known plights
They have seen it all from where they come?
I tried to count them all but they are hard to sum
Days go by they pour themselves into bags of years
I collected them all and want to lose them while I run
Looking for the recognized spots locked in the memory
Places I saw when I rode on this road always taken
A thousand pictures unconsciously painted
With the brushes dipped in burning desires

Today the destination is uncertain
Today I am not the one
Today the daisies on the side have changed their color
Today me seem far away from we
Breaking and building only to be broken again?
No more sighs, no more signs
This should be the last time
I approach the last sign board pointing “right”
This city has started to sleep in denial
A question knocks and hints an answer
Am I the only one or these streets have conspired?
Reality sinking in with a known high
This place that always looked mine
Today struggles to identify who am I?

-A “U”-turn sometimes have saved a life…

15/4/2011

KUNAL SETH

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-long-road-2/
