You put on the whole get-up <br />the suit, the boots and bells. <br />I watch you with the children... <br />some have whispers, some have yells. <br /> <br />They tell you their requests <br />while dreams just fill their eyes. <br />No matter what they ask for <br />you assure them you will try. <br /> <br />They always leave you smiling <br />and they know that you are real. <br />That you are truly Santa <br />and you know just how they feel. <br /> <br />The little ones are shy at first. <br />You put them right at ease. <br />You let them talk to you awhile <br />as they sit acrossed your knee. <br /> <br />The older ones are more unsure. <br />They don't know what to think. <br />But, you make sure they're watching <br />when you look at them and wink. <br /> <br />Your heart is so apparent <br />as you look into their eyes. <br />You make sure that you call each one <br />their name...to their suprise. <br /> <br />I've always wanted Santa <br />to be just my very own. <br />It's nice that when the suit comes off <br />I get to take you home.<br /><br />Mary Nagy<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/watching-you-play-santa/
