I am a machine all fat and round, and standing <br />at least three foot off the ground.I am very proud <br />of my digital dial, because with a touch of the finger <br />it sorts out the pile of dirty washing that you have had <br />for a while.When my family was invented women went <br />wild because everything they washed came out soft and <br />mild. It was then we became headline news, because we <br />cut the burden of the wash day blues. Our ancestors before <br />us were all just great but if we used them today, the world <br />would be in one hell of a state. <br />First came Great Grandfather tub, with sunlight soap and <br />scrub, scrub, scrub.Then on came Grandfather washboard <br />with a rub, rub, rub. They had their partners that lived in the <br />yard a big iron mangle that made work very hard. <br />Then along came my parents every housewife's dream <br />a beautiful thing called the washing machine. <br />We have improved a lot over a long length of time and <br />some of us dry everything, so there is no need for a line. <br />I cannot tell you what will be our next invention but the <br />ironing side of washing, has sometimes been mentioned.<br /><br />sylvia spencer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ancestors-3/
