Darkness encompasses you, all around you, <br />Multitudinous shades of black, <br />forever falling forwards, no chance to find your way back. <br />Cold dampness crawls, over your naked frail skin, <br />Clammy fingers reaching for you, is the feeling you have within. <br />No directions, no signs, not even hope can you see, <br />Only desolation and emptiness, with no way to break free. <br />The darkness closes in on you as fear grips your heart and soul, <br />A smothering shroud of finality, seeps from an inverted hole. <br />The smell of decay fills your nostrils, as your mind begins to fail, <br />All color drains from your countenance, leaving your skin deathly pale. <br />Darkness now comes closer, to smother you, slowly, not abrupt, <br />You know that nothingness will take you, and then… <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> You wake up! !<br /><br />Ruth warren<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/missing-light/
