Yes, I do have some close friends,
But we wear different labels and brands.
They like skirts, and so often they giggle,
I love my jeans, and not only I’m prone to trouble,
I also hurt and struggle.

They dance to Snoop Dogg and N.E.R.D,
While I admire Thom’s brain and I study Kurt.
They like routines,
And appreciate secure surroundings.
I’d rather discuss about Mr. Putin,
Or eat some nasty puddings.

My friends, they dot their i's with little hearts,
Unlike me, they don’t enjoy playing cards,
Or throwing darts.
A ruler for every straight line,
Mine is usually winding and crooked but I really don’t mind.

They spend hours dressing up,
Precious time wasted on mascaras and lipsticks.
I have difficulty conforming and waking up,
But at least my heart is big,
And I master chopsticks.

My friends, they drool over sport cars and pretty boys,
Me? I’m interested in that outcast who plays with strange toys.
It’s kinda sad to see them behaving unbelievably unreal,
I think deep down they feel fake and superficial,
They get rid of the guilt by doing facials…

Lara W.A

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/who-are-you-kidding/
