Taken down in a single slender <br />Comely dash, <br />I get back from the movies and I <br />Crash; <br />Yes, the sun is just yet coming up, <br />And putting its light on the green pines, <br />The coney pups- <br />It is a beautiful day in the world, spinning, <br />Spinning like a rubber duck in a bath of <br />Make-believe, <br />The little boys drive their trucks <br />In a sea of make-believe, <br />Diademed by the icy centaurs- they don’t <br />Even know what to feel- <br />They grab their guns to get a handle on the <br />Dizzing pinwheel, and gods shines down on them <br />In a Mandela of pretty resorts, <br />New tiny t-rexes grow up from the earth, <br />Right out from the center of grandmother’s <br />Grave, <br />And she’s still whispering, you need to shave, <br />You need to shave; yeah, but anyways, <br />The sky is spinning in its own insouciant enclaves, <br />And it doesn’t need to feel, <br />Or look down on the trailer parks of the tin metal <br />Surreal, <br />And that’s just fine with me: I’ll eat my microwave <br />Dinners by the false light of all her days- <br />I’ll love her- love her anyways.<br /><br />Robert Rorabeck<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/poltergeist-yum-yum/
