Forever the fool <br />Her in the cage <br />Trapped by the fear <br />The one unexplained <br />Caught in a loop from stomachs deep pit <br />Overwhelming desire forever to check <br />Sickening mind <br />Thoughts come so foul <br />Of impending doom <br />She shouldn’t allow <br />Them into her head <br />As night does set in <br />And filling the day, circling within <br />Forever uneasy <br />Routine is her faith <br />To live reassurance is keeping her safe <br />From demons that lurk in shadows of old <br />If only, she prays <br />I could be so bold <br />To leave a place <br />Without turning around <br />Believe under the bed <br />No one will be found <br />The close of the door <br />Would lock it in place <br />Then annoyed disappointment <br />Would not show on your face <br />Oh to be free from the burden <br />Of tormenting thought <br />Free from the monster <br />That has her caught.<br /><br />Alc Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/obsessive/
