Do you know how it feels, <br />standing out here, more clueless than ever. <br />I can't tell what is real, <br />not cold but my thoughts get me to shiver. <br />I'm falling down with my dreams, <br />and that great life i thought i will lead. <br />One mind drifted through million streams, <br />one heart in my hands and slowly bleed. <br />I get nostalgia over a smile, <br />i lost your precious smile but still i'm on my way. <br />I'm weared out mile after mile, <br />so tired, that if we met i won't ask you to stay. <br />The fact that you've always been far, <br />got me thinking, that maybe i can't have you near. <br />Our life is hard and our love is a scar, <br />my heart's always yours and it's my greatest fear. <br />You think you've been there, <br />but believe me you just haven't got a clue. <br />It's always painful and never fair, <br />the life and the road i took, to reach you. <br />It diverts, it's changing and ever winding, <br />i just got so tired but i don't dare to stop. <br />Some times the facts can get so blinding, <br />and i can't help, but to let my tears drop. <br />I know it in my heart though, <br />that if we ever stood out here together. <br />I will let all of my illusions go, <br />i'll touch a truth for the first time ever. <br />This thought warms my heart, <br />that i maybe able to captivate your smile finally. <br />I think i know where or how to start, <br />but i just don't know where this road is taking me...<br /><br />Eman Awad<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-road-i-took-to-reach-you/
