Love is eternal and timeless; <br />frail human bodies decay. <br />Once so young and ambitious. <br />Now much older and grey. <br /> <br />So many years spent together, <br />so many fears held at bay. <br />Through fevers and fierce stormy weather, <br />you still hold me breathless in sway. <br /> <br />I know, you've only one shot, <br />at life. That's all you got. <br />Some say, the jury's still out. <br />They pray, to eliminate doubt. <br />But I think, that's what it's about: <br />the meaning of life, is living it. <br /> <br />When I leave I've nothing to carry, <br />but the memory of your gentle soul. <br />Don't grieve if I cannot tarry; <br />let the bells roll out their toll. <br /> <br />So many years spent together, <br />so many fears held at bay. <br />The torch will burn on forever, <br />as lit on the very first day. <br /> <br />You won my devotion with kindness; <br />your humour and deep sense of play. <br />Forgive my emotional blindness. <br />I just get carried away. <br /> <br />I will leave without any hurry. <br />I will try to take my time. <br />Don't grieve if I cannot tarry; <br />let the bells toll out their chime. <br /> <br />One thing only I'm sure of; <br />the one thing only I know: <br />the last embrace of a great love, <br />makes it so hard to go. <br /> <br />I will leave without any worries; <br />my mountains have all been climbed. <br />Believe me.
