The Fragments:

Streets paved with gold - young people by the sea - horizonless deserts - rocks of a green cape - momentary lonely peace - passion moments - addiction - sweet sleepless billie holiday jazz cafe - stockmarkets - connectivity - the family shattered and globalized - the play’s the thing - propaganda and love songs - pride and humility - mentors and prophets - faith and ethnicity - reconstructed identity - myths and attitudes - flat earth land politics - livelihood migrancy - return to the melted core? - headwaters of the red sea? - flying frequently and higher - crash and burn? - phoenix or hope’s fantasy?

Text:

So, is it mainly delusion? Or in good part?
Partnership and pain:
Evolutionary biology -
There is no “God”, but mathematics,
Physics and parenting
Seem to have some function -
Affection is less heeded, most important
As an engine to survive this “life”
And reach a peaceful State.

Recantation

All that I believed: cocktail and confection -
Mostly sweet and heady.
Well now, concepts are split and barren
And what I mainly believe
Is that Music is alone divine:
Inexplicable like prayer.

Insert

Calm the questioning moment of the night?
Leave the search for definitions of beauty?
Sacredness found in acceptance?

Incantation

I don’t like to fool myself
Too much anymore, nor any other
Least or most of all
(“1st rule: do no harm”) -
Solitude is more defensible
In the later laps
But if a body must be reached
And a mind is called to reply
(“If a body meet a body, coming through the rye”) -
Love should not mislead us into being atomized.
One and only chance of life -
Random, unexpected, unrequested:
A caged enigma, hard to bear,
Crying like a baby for a reason to share.

(“Nous avons toute la morte pour nous reposer..”)

Frank Bana

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-fragments-and-beyond/
