Not Long Left - When time let go of my youth

when I was young
And the days were sweet,
Hidden from the sun,
Was a den were we would meet.
Sat on a crusty carpet
of long dead leaves,
our two day hand holding
Romances were engraved upon trees.
Our dreams of the future,
were planned under
the spilt paint summer sky,
from within the red, blue and yellow,
winking stars mocked us,
with there bright blinding eyes.
Many summers did we spend,
dancing and dreaming,
laughing and scheming,
just you and me my friend.
Two but one, one but two,
eating each other words,
the way good friends do.
Yet after some years,
Time grew bored holding,
our innocece tight,
and eventually let go.
Like a heavy foot in fresh snow,
things would never be the same.
And over time the den of dreams,
collapsed under the burden of neglect,
Our lives would now pass each other,
where once they met.
Nights were spent drinking,
drowning all source of natural fun,
Days soon over, before they begun.
Sexual roads were travelled,
Drugged up holes were fallen in,
We drifted and then dissapeared.
twin memories the last remains of our past,
how our little lives flew by so fast.
The den like our little dreams as fragile as glass.

Not Long Left

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/when-time-let-go-of-my-youth/
