It wilts <br />and I weep. <br />Much beauty <br />clouded these eyes <br />and muted the mouth. <br />She is curled up in <br />some corner of my world. <br />Do not blame time, time <br />only recorded the demise. <br />Words once welcomed <br />now strain the ear. <br />Scents that soothed the senses <br />now stand lonely, unused <br />on a white just dusted shelf. <br />I took you on a journey and <br />departed half way, words <br />seduced me, numbed some <br />and alighted others. <br />Jokes are only funny when <br />the world wants them. <br />I rain down upon her, she <br />straightens a little, petals <br />un curl and for a moment the <br />once become the now, <br />Yet she is thirsty, <br />Thirsty for something I can <br />no longer give. <br />She wilts <br />and I weep.<br /><br />Not Long Left<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/flower-if-only-i-could-satisfy-your-thirst/
