One dark evening <br />I met a bare-footed little girl <br />Who carries a ragged doll <br />Along a narrow cobbled street. <br />I found tears in her gloomy eyes <br />And before I asked she muttered; <br />'Uncle do you have a picture book for me to see? ' <br />I was shocked and I said; <br />'I am so sorry my dear Magpie, <br />I have only my pocket Dictionary.' <br />'That I read a long time ago <br />But I couldn't find my parents yet.' <br />Oh!
