This land is what we are all about <br />Where we were born and raised <br />Whether in a small or large city <br />Or in open fields where cattle graze <br /> <br />It is yesterday and tomorrow <br />It is where our life begins <br />And as we grow much older <br />It is where it also ends <br /> <br />This land is where the families <br />Begin and where they grow <br />In the bustling industrial cities <br />Or in country where life is slow <br /> <br />We cherish our land always <br />It means the world to us all <br />It sets boundaries as well <br />Whether land is large or small <br /> <br />Many years ago there were <br />Farmsteads scattered near and far <br />Folks visited on horseback <br />For back then there were no cars <br /> <br />It is universal, of course <br />Whether red dirt or white sand <br />Just where ever you happen to be <br />It is all about this land!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/this-land/
