I was blind to my calling in life, <br />I didn't wanna take on what GOD had in mind. <br />I thought that I wanted a simple life, <br />But, the Lord had a different aim for me to realize, <br />And he’s asked for my heart, my mind, my soul <br />The things I thought were mine, what made me whole. <br />But, He tells me I am a part of Him, and my goal <br />Is to fulfill my destiny, to play out my role <br /> <br />Come to think of it, until now I thought <br />“Why are my dreams shattered? My hopes shot? <br />And why every memory, in time, seems to rot? ” <br />I realize I was a fool to have sought <br />Things that took me far away from Him <br />I thought I was here to fulfill my whims <br />And fancies, but He gave me my skin <br />To show the world the more divine things <br /> <br />And he guides me breaking my forced dreams <br />That I keep building to run away, it seems. <br />Coz he has a job laid down for me <br />And from deep down inside His voice screams. <br />Screams so hard because I refuse to hear, <br />But my Lord, trust me now, I will bear <br />The path you have for me, I’ll start right here. <br />So bless me lord and force away my fear.<br /><br />Vidushi Khera<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/devoir/
