To you who drank from blue bell goblets, <br />To you who sipped from the chalice of Harmony <br />I wrote this song for thee. <br /> <br />To you who smooth my soul with questioning <br />I request you treasure the memories I leave you <br />As I will forever hold true the memories I keep <br />Of you hung safe within the galleries of my mind. <br /> <br />I lied when I said to I felt no extremity within the realm <br />Of emotion - Yet with each thought an ocean I feel <br />As though I'm drowning in a sea of Sorrow, Engulfed below the tides of Woe. <br />The helmsman of sanity's sailing is shaken, awoken are his senses. <br />Constantly building his defences he'll always be late for the morning show. <br />Seek Persephone in procession with Harmony. <br />Arise a Rose, blooming as the Moon caress' the midnight sun. <br /> <br />The games we play, throughout the day <br />Doth sway my heart in swing. <br />With happy a heart alongside merry a cheer <br />We allow our hearts time to sing. <br /> <br />May you always remember the blessings of youth. <br />May truth forever guide your path. <br />May you find love in the form you seek, <br />May you never be weak in confrontation with the storm. <br />How glad I am we met. <br />Such a break as you are from the norm. <br /> <br />When the night is cold, <br />When I wander, slow and old. <br />I'll keep safe within sanity <br />The etchings of you I keep above <br />The highest watermark of memories fading. <br />I will warm myself with the memory of a flower <br />In full bloom, swooning in sight of the silver moon. <br /> <br />In times to come, I hope you find your fun <br />As you enjoy the days whilst you are young. <br />Just as I hope you retain a fragile beauty throughout the <br />Passage of the years.<br /><br />David Lacey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-walk-within-valentine-gardens/
