Air, I once needed it to live. <br />I couldn’t survive without it. <br />I needed food and water as well, <br />They were also for my benefit. <br /> <br />I do not miss any of these. <br />Not one of life’s pleasures do I crave. <br />I don’t miss the weekends at the lake, <br />Or the hiking trips up to the cave. <br /> <br />I don’t miss one thing about life; <br />Except...I do yearn for you. <br />Not the physical bond we shared, <br />But the spiritual love that we knew. <br /> <br />Without you, I am incomplete. <br />As if I’d misplaced part of my heart. <br />And I shall not feel whole again, <br />While death keeps the two of us apart. <br /> <br />Heaven almost makes up for that, <br />Yet I cannot say what isn’t true. <br />Though it is more than paradise, <br />It isn’t Heaven without you. <br /> <br />*Note-Another sort of thought, took the situation I find myself in and switched it around a bit.<br /><br />Sara Stowell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/it-isn-t-heaven-without-you/
