On the light path of life's winds <br />Moving tenderly without restraint <br />Days of glory and expansion <br />Doing things right, inside and out <br /> <br />Then sideswiped, as if a truck <br />Pulling me down to a dark place <br />Filling each cranny with tar <br />Sticking and pulling my feet <br /> <br />Repeated drumming in my mind <br />Fretting over a mountain I can't move <br />It won't yield to reason <br />Nor to love or compassion <br /> <br />Hovering over my home and resting <br />On my shoulders <br />It's an unwelcomed guest <br />Seen in my face and gait <br /> <br />Mired down, my mind accomodates <br />Well, if it did happen <br />Well, others have done worse <br />Well, we could get by <br /> <br />It seems so silly to <br />Have worried about something <br />That wouldn't happen <br />These kinds of fears go unrealized <br /> <br />A new bright current is available <br />Hop on it and ride emerging <br />Clarity and peace <br />Until I'm sideswiped again <br /> <br />My growth is measured <br />Using tar and time<br /><br />Ray Andrews<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/neurosis/
