I stand on the end of my pride <br />Because I have no answer <br />I put my wisdom aside <br />And leave myself to anger <br /> <br /> <br />These are the days of a life <br />It's hard to tell the friends from the enemies <br />Just like someone is all in strife <br />And someone from afar envies <br /> <br /> <br />Life as a business states <br />That people are commodities <br />Today someone is served on your plate <br />Tomorrow he is bottled in memories <br /> <br /> <br />Life as a medicine puts: <br />That people are healers <br />They heal whenever the occasion suits <br />And don't question the dealer <br /> <br /> <br />Life as faith dictates <br />That people are devils and angels <br />Half so in love; half so in hate <br />That's what makes them strangers <br /> <br /> <br />Where am I in this question <br />The answer seems so near yet so far <br />Every day I place my bets on <br />The kind of life that makes us who we are <br /> <br /> <br />But I find no one to respond <br />Am I not loud enough or clear enough? <br />It seems people's pride is a pond <br />Yet with waves that ripple and roar rough <br /> <br /> <br />Waves that are bound to collide <br />Somewhere making circles and whirls <br />The circles sleep to the side <br />The whirls down to the bottom curl <br /> <br />Is the question my question alone <br />Or are the circles asking each other the same <br />Do they know there are hearts as hard as stone <br />Do they know it's useless to blame <br /> <br /> <br />Or when the whirls pull you down <br />And you wake in the sweat of a dream <br />Do you sense the street in sight and sound <br />You hear 'I'm proud today' and Satan scream<br /><br />Ragy Sandid<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/bewildered-3/
