Through these tear-misted eyes, <br />This soul seeks light. <br />Yet no one is watching, <br />You're all alone. <br /> <br />In this God-forsaken bathroom, <br />everything is spinning fast, <br />drowning you in a whirlwind of pain, <br />even though time has stopped. <br /> <br />Yet outside, just beyond this door, <br />the world is moving at a normal pace. <br />There are voices and laughter, <br />because no one knows you're crying. <br /> <br />Even one moan, <br />can alleviate your pain, <br />You're collapsing so painfully, <br />And trying desperately to keep it silent. <br /> <br />Up above, the sick yellow light flickers. <br />Followed by the buzzing sound. <br />You scream in your heart, <br />even the light is mocking you. <br /> <br />You keep silent, <br />You keep quiet, <br />You don't want to be heard, <br />Because you know it's your fault. <br /> <br />You stare into the broken mirror, <br />the bloodshot eyes looked back, <br />You're tired, but you can't show it. <br />No one will ever know what happened.<br /><br />Sylvia Thomas<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/silent-tears-4/
