Today I started to cry <br />When I heard a sad song <br />Right then I knew <br />That it wouldn't be long <br /> <br />I hoped and prayed <br />That I'd find someone to care <br />Someone who needs me <br />Someone who wants me there <br /> <br />I think that I'm too needy <br />Wanting too much to please <br />Everyone tries to take advantage <br />And eventually they all tease <br /> <br />I can't help who I am <br />If appreciated I wouldn't care <br />I can't help being a good person <br />Who if called I'd soon be there <br /> <br />But when all is said and done <br />I know I deserve much more <br />Whenever I get tired of being the rug <br />I get up and walk out the door. <br /> <br />5/19/2006<br /><br />Angelique' Rockwell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-rug/
