Morning hasn't yet broken the spell <br />of the mystery night brings. <br />The stars hold far steadier <br />than this flame I write by. <br />Every other moment threatening <br />to go out between the calm. <br />Sand slides through my fingers <br />ever more quickly as I try to hold on. <br />These pictures, these words, <br />will be lost. <br />Who are you that has invaded my dreams, <br />only to disappear before I could know? <br />Who is it that has pushed me to believe? <br />Who is it that wants me to believe in me, <br />myself, and my abilities? <br />Who are you that believes in my worth? <br />You keep sending me a message, <br />but I don't understand the language. <br />You have laid out my path, <br />only to allow the signs to get jumbled. <br />I try to hold on, <br />but I can't. <br />So I will wait for you to come back. <br />Some night you'll be around again. <br />Maybe next time you'll tell me who you are. <br />Maybe you'll reveal me to myself. <br />Maybe you'll linger and maybe <br />I'll remember more. <br />Till then you're fading fast, <br />hardly even a memory from a dream.<br /><br />Aimee Rozen<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/faded-dreams-2/
