Should I dare to kiss her? <br />For if I do <br />I will be damned for the rest of my life. <br /> <br />But if I do not kiss her <br />I will not be able to breathe. <br />And my soul will die. <br /> <br />I know her skin is fairer than mine. <br />And her ocean blue eyes that I swim in forever <br />Are supposed to be forbidden for me to gaze upon. <br />But I cannot stop staring into them. <br /> <br />For when I gaze upon her eyes I see her heart. <br />And my heart cannot help but to fall in love with her. <br /> <br />When we are together I see not a European woman. <br />And she sees not an African American man. <br />We only see the person we love. <br /> <br />Now because of our love some may say our souls are damned. <br />But we both care not.
