there is a crack <br />in things <br /> <br />there lies a <br />fracture <br />in the way of things <br /> <br />there is this hole <br />in my heart <br />where the misery <br />pours out <br /> <br />where every breath <br />of free air <br />is filled with the smell <br />of souls <br />decaying <br />around me <br /> <br />their greedy fingers <br />move the fog like <br />basement webs <br />as they tear at my <br />eyes <br /> <br />every step <br />amongst the dead <br />every dance <br />through the drooling <br />gibbering <br />crowds <br />drives ever closer <br />to red madness <br /> <br />and there is a hole <br />in my heart <br />where the misery <br />pours out <br /> <br />i can hear them <br />speaking at me <br />screeching <br />howling <br />death rattles <br />i stuff my ears <br />with memories of <br />better days <br />before i begin <br />to howl back <br /> <br />nothing is right <br />anymore <br />nothing is clean <br />anymore <br />nothingness grows <br />until nothing <br />becomes all <br /> <br />drown all the children <br />burn all the women <br />rape and mutilate the men <br />nothing is all <br />nothing is all <br /> <br />it's only when <br />the dead finally sleep <br />and the street has been <br />hidden <br />by a blanket of hush <br />that i can breathe <br />again <br /> <br />the veil above me <br />unfolds itself <br />and those that i love <br />loved <br />will love <br />bathe me <br />in silver warmth <br /> <br />i weep <br />when the dawn <br />comes clawing its way <br />over the carcass <br />of my world <br />the light will bring the dead <br />and drown me <br />in madness <br />again <br /> <br />it is never enough <br />to fill this hole <br />in my heart <br />where the misery <br />pours from<br /><br />alexandre arnau<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/hole-5/
