True Story <br /> <br /> <br />Many years had passed since Daddy went to Heaven’s gates <br />A small remembrance of him found and given to me by his second wife <br />Old and worn his wallet from long ago <br />Pictures of his lil’ children and a faded woman no one knows <br />A couple of two dollar bills one Canadian one American <br />Silver certificates, bills dated 1935 <br />His ordained minister card and a prayer cloth <br />The meaning of the cloth came from Paul Acts 19: 12 <br />When they took handkerchiefs and aprons of his clothes and laid them on the sick <br />They were healed <br />Holding the cloth in my hand <br />You could still smell the anointing oil <br />I wondered for awhile had it help him with his request <br />Placing the card and the cloth back were it had rested for many years <br /> <br />Next week a scheduled day at the hospital <br />Remove the tumor that was found be it malignant or benign <br />But when the doctor went to check for final time <br />Gone, no longer there <br />Amazed, bewildered, how can this be? <br />These things just don’t disappear she said <br />Test ran confirming it was no longer there <br />Could it be the power of healing through the cloth? <br />I leave that up to you and God<br /><br />Patricia Gale<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-cloth/
