Breezes gently blowing <br />Increasing with the passing time <br />The leaves from the maple tree <br />Begin to sway <br />Like dancing arms in the clouds <br /> <br />Coolness is carried in <br />Delivering a scent of freshness in the air <br />The smell of rain incomparable to all <br />Tiny falling streams of softness begins <br />Droplets sliding down the windows <br /> <br />A flash from a memory comes forth…… <br /> <br />Darting out to the backyard with a basket in hand <br />running for the clothes line to gather linen blowing in the breeze <br />pinching the clothes pins and giving a few tugs <br />pulling and scrambling for the next piece <br />dashing back to the house <br /> <br />Remembering the scent of air dried linens <br /> as my tired body would collapse into the bed <br />the smell was like no other <br />Ah the simple way life used to be <br />It was hard but yet had its rewards<br /><br />Patricia Gale<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/rainy-memories/
