Look at this man <br />Bound and shackled since born <br />Drawn and twisted <br />As though a prisoner of war <br /> <br />His body cries for just once <br />To feel the clay beneath his feet <br />Others laugh and mock <br />Call him crazy and freak <br /> <br />Tears fill his eyes <br />As his heart beats with pain <br />I am but a man inside <br />Like you, I am the same <br /> <br />He turned and hung his head <br />He cried, My God! My God! <br />Am I not worthy to be a man? <br />Am I not worthy to walk? <br /> <br />Faith grew in his hands and feet <br />He felt strength as not before <br />The ones standing witness <br />Fell to the floor <br /> <br />He rose up with a glow on his face <br />The glory the Lord had bestowed <br />From his head to his feet <br />The power of the Lord showed <br /> <br />All that had stood and mocked him <br />Tried to stand to their feet <br />But the presence of the Almighty <br />Held them as to heed <br /> <br />The room filled with a bright light <br />All that lay on the floor did shake <br />They heard a great and loud voice <br />This is my son whom I gave <br /> <br />Power over sin and death <br />Stripes that you may be healed <br />Bruised for you iniquities <br />That my power may be revealed <br /> <br />Take what you’ve just seen and go <br />Tell my world of lost souls <br />I created all things <br />I alone make them whole <br /> <br />All rise and walk and laugh no more <br />For all belongs to me <br />I am the God of this Nation <br />Open your eyes now and see <br /> <br />Once again soon one day <br />I will send my son once more <br />To gather all my children <br />To walk with me for evermore<br /><br />Lagaya Evans<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/walk-3/
