My heart hammers <br />as you draw near <br />My eyes are locked on yours <br />As you hypnotize me <br /> <br />My palms become damp <br />as my nerves go haywire <br />the blood pulses through my veins <br />And my knees become weak <br /> <br />Emotions constrict through me <br />I don't know whether to stay or leave <br />Would you care if I left? <br />or would you like me stay <br /> <br />My emotions become jumbled <br />As you fingers wrap around mine <br />I feel safe and secure with you near <br />The world could end, and I wouldn't know <br /> <br />When he lied to me <br />And I became confused <br />You were there <br />To shine truth in my eyes <br /> <br />My breath is in-sync with yours <br />Your chest is sold against my cheek <br />Your fingers run through my hair <br />And my eyes fall closed <br /> <br />Sleeping no longer bothers me <br />Because I know I will wake up <br />And you will still be <br />holding me close to you <br /> <br />I did dream that you left <br />And I didn't know why <br />But when my eyes fluttered open, <br />Your brown eyes were watching me <br /> <br />You asked if I was okay <br />And I said yes with a smile <br />You saw the fear behind my lie <br />But didn't dig deeper <br /> <br />You pulled me closer <br />And whispered things in my ear <br />My nightmares drifted <br />And I melted in your arms<br /><br />Angel Croshier<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/emotions-12/
