Once there was a tall rock in a stream <br />It was so large that indomitable it seemed <br />It stood firm against the fiercest tempest <br />It did not yield to the occasional knocks and bumps <br /> <br />Water in the stream however did not stop <br />On meeting the hard unmovable solid rock <br />It flowed around the free space beside <br />To continue its journey of flight <br /> <br />In flowing around, the water rubbed off <br />Very tiny part of the rock’s basal stock <br />With passing of time the rock tumbled down <br />Being eroded by the most fluid of forms. <br /> <br />So in life never forget that the rule <br /> ‘The soft overcome the hard’ is really true <br />Be soft, gentle and flexible over things <br />That are in the hard, rough and bigoted rings<br /><br />Han Min Ohn<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-soft-and-the-hard/
